Who We Are

St John’s is a part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. At the community level, St John’s is a family sized congregation. We are involved in our community with free meals the fourth Saturday of every month. Our youth are engaged in service projects both within the congregation and to the community at large. We support, as a part of our community involvement, the Orphan Grain Train, Women’s Ministry with caring and sharing bible study, Lutheran World Missions and Lydia Society at the local level and their hoagie sale ministry. We also support our troops with military Bible sticks and Veteran’s sleep out in November to support our homeless veterans.
We are growing in our faith and helping others to come to faith and grow in it. We are specifically seeking to reach younger families. We have a contemporary service the first Saturday of every month. We also offer Wednesday night services during Lent and Advent. We have a Wednesday afternoon Bible study in addition to our Sunday Morning Bible Study.

Who Is Our Pastor

I grew up in the Lutheran church in a variety of locations in the U.S. I met my wife, Gayle in college. Gayle and I have two sons who are both married and are following Jesus.
Wanting to help people sent me off to school where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology. While during secular work, I have been blessed to be a part of many congregations and enjoyed working in lay ministry. After working over 25 years in the behavioral health field, God redirected my path through circumstances and my church at the time. I entered Concordia Seminary St. Louis where I earned a Master of Divinity. On June 6,2017, I was ordained as an LCMS pastor here at St. Johns.
It is a blessing to be a part of this great congregation. We are engaged in the mission to make disciples (see Matthew 28:19-20). We work that mission through adult Bible Studies, Children’s Sunday School, our Youth ministry program, through our music and praise and worship life together and in living out our Christian faith together.

What We Believe
Faith alone; Scripture alone; Grace alone
Martin Luther
Part of getting to know us is understanding what we believe. In an age where most people determine their god, we believe in the Triune God of the Bible, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is holy and created humans to be in a relationship with Him. Our rebellious nature caused us to sin, so God in His great love for us created a way back to himself through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. We agree with Martin Luther that salvation is done through God's gift of faith to us, done through Jesus as recorded in the Scripture, and done through God's gift of grace, not through works that we do.
